« 3 years later, not so happy »

I was given a Braun 7526 as a gift a few years ago. Just over three years later there is something wrong with the razor and it does not work. I've replaced the blade and screen every 18 months. Just before it was time to replace the blade/screen there was a new noise. I hoped that it was the blade/screen that was the problem. After I replaced the blade/screen the noise continued and it does not cut my beard well. There is something wrong with the razor itself.

My next question is will I get another Braun razor. At this point I don't think so. I have used an electric razor for years. The one I had before the Braun needed a cord. The Braun was cordless. I liked the cordless aspect. The Braun was self cleaning. I liked the self cleaning aspect, except that the cleaning solution is expensive. I changed the blade/screen every 18 months. I guess if the razor itself had kept working I'd still be using it to shave. At this point I'm looking at spending between $100 and $200 to replace my razor if I buy another Braun. If a three year life span is acceptable then I don't think I'll buy another.

As a side point I've been a using safety razor since the Braun stopped working, and I'd forgotten how close the shave is when you use a safety razor. I realize now the Braun did not shave very close. I always needed a safety razor for my neck because the Braun didn't do a good job.

« 6 years and still going strong! »

I got this razor before I went to college about 6 years ago. I first used it and I loved it; close shave, clean feeling. Unfortunately I started to get very bad razor burn from it after a bit. Didn't know what it was from. I went back to a regular blade for years. One day I found the razor again and decided to give it another shot (years older and wiser;) ). I noticed I never changed the blade, so I did that, and tried it again and it worked like it was new again. I also noticed that it wasn't getting as close as a regular blade until I started using pre-shave. As soon as I started the pre-shave the irritation and the "closeness issue" went away!

So just make sure you keep it clean, keep the blade fresh (I think once every 18 months), and use pre-shave!

« Disappointing and inefective. »

I have hyper sensitive skin, and this shaver did not work for me. I tried using it a few times and did I not get a good shave out of it. It irritated my skin and I eventually just got rid of it and went back to razors. I

« Good Shaver. »

I had this shaver years ago and decided to go to one you can rinse with water. I figured I would save money by not buying the cleaning solution. I went back to this one because I did'nt find one that shaved as good. This razor shaves close. I'll pay for the solution because of the fact that you just but it in stand, turn it on and your ready for your next shave with a clean shaver. When you turn on the cleaning unit it will be noisy in the begining. Overall a good shaver. Can also be cleaned manualy.
