« Back to Braun (and staying there). »
After using a simple single cutter (closer to the now available PocketGo's) model Braun a few years ago and then switching to Philips, Norelco and Remington I have returned to Braun. I must say I am delightfully surprised and so far no brand changing crosses my mind. The shave is MUCH CLOSER (razor like close) than any of the other brands I have ever used, even my prior Braun.

This unit has its limitations, but I prefer such units than the fancy self-cleaning, huge base, gel dispensing, blah blah units. This unit is extremely portable, to the point where the base included is totally optional, I have stashed it somewhere it will not interfere and left only the brush, cable and oil at hand. They, and the shaver unit, snuggly fit in my hair clipper box, so it's literally occupying no space at all.

I shave dry and only use a preshave if trying to get rid of late day shadows. No bumps, no redness, no irritation. This for me is the REAL SALE, for I cannot shave using a regular razor because I'll be red and bumpy for days (literally).

The only real con I find is I am unable to operate the unit while it is plugged in. Otherwise, I am happier now than with any of my prior shavers.

    « Poorly Performing Shaver »
This is a poorly performing and poorly engineered shaver. It takes several passes to cut even a day's growth of whiskers, and it does not even touch long whiskers unless the trimmer is used. The head tends to come off too easily during shaving if one presses too hard or if one's face is wet. Also the on/off button is right where the thumb rests during shaving, so the tendency is to inadvertently turn the razor on & off. I would not purchase ANY Braun again.

    « Terrible »
I've used other Braun shavers in the past, but this one is truly terrible. It will not cut stubble over one day old with the foil. You have to use the trimmer on even the shortest stubble, then go back with the foil (over and over again) to try to get anything approaching a close shave. Really not worth the money. Try another one.

    « can't get the neck hairs »
I've used this shaver for about 4 months now. It's convenient in that you don't need any pre-shave lotion (like some electrics). It works well on the face. It delivers a very close and smooth shave on the mustache, cheek and chin area. The pop up long hair trimmer also works for trimming side burns, the back of the neck area and body hair. It's fairly easy to clean with soap and water and includes a brush, oil and plastic cover.

Unfortunately, it can be pretty rough on the face and sometimes leaves nicks and ripped up dry skin. This shaver can't get the hairs on my upper neck / lower jaw which grow horizontally. Because of the angle and growth pattern this is the hardest area to shave even with a standard blade. However, a regular blade is much smaller and more maneuverable. This shaver leaves hairs untouched in the neck area no matter which way the skin is stretched or shaver turned. This means I have to shave with a regular blade to clean up the neck area where the shaver misses. I will probably end up using it just for quick touch ups and going back to a regular blade.

    « Nice shaver »
This is a nice shaver. Compared to my old Braun that I used for many years it is quieter. The overall shave is good as it gives a close shave and the trimmer for long facial hair and sideburns works well also. It charges very quickly and has an indicator light to tell you that it is charging but you cannot use it as a corded shaver. It works cordless only. It is a little pricy but overall it is worth it.
